Yes a lower winning percentage than the Highlight Reelers, but the NorthVan Knights are coming off three wins in a row against each of the remaining teams in this tier. One of those victories being a convincing 6-1 win over the Highlight Reelers. From here on out, I expect NVK to replicate those performances, which in effect means any of the other teams vying for the T1 crown will have to go through NVK in the finals. I have always maintained that if the right bench shows up for this team they are the favorites, and it looks like their right bench is showing up at the best time. |
2 |
Far and away the best winning percentage of the four teams in this tier, I have only placed HLR in second solely due to their 6-1 loss to NVK. I generally dont put that much stock into one game, but this late into the season we start seeing the rosters loading up into what you will probably see in the playoffs. Can HLR topple NVK come playoffs? Of course they can. Will they? Not sure, my crystal ball is in the repair shop. |
3 |
Have actually fared better than the Bombers since the final re-tiering, going about .500 in the process. Jacob Chong leads the team in scoring once more, which restores some balance to the force. Justin Lee is back to PPG status, which I am sure he is pleased about (sarcasm) and Jun-Ho Kang has rebounded to get in his six games in time, WHAT A MONSTERRRR. Truth be told though, I dont think Goombas can take two of three against NVK or HLR. |
4 |
Ever since tier 1 received the preverbial trimming of the fat, and only four teams remained, the Bombers have suffered, going 0-4-1 in their last five. True, they have a Overtime tie against HLR and one of their losses was in overtime against NVK, but they also got torched for 8 goals against Goombas. Is it me, or does every game between Bombers and Goombas have like 15+ goals scored. A big question is whether Jerry Wong plays for Bombers or HLR for the playoffs. With or without Jerry Wong, the prospects of Bombers lifting the ice604 cup this season are evaporating with each passing loss. |

If you exclude their losses to the Vipers (who seem to have a mastery over them this season), the Drillers could have ran the table into an undefeated season. Drillers better hope they win their next game, and Underdogs lose theirs, as the Drillers' current trajectory puts them in a first round match up against Vipers. Assuming that is there is no form of a first round bye in this tier. |
2 |
Adrien Wen's banner season is helping put UDG near the creme of the crop in tier 2. With the exception of their loss to Drillers last game, Underdogs' record has been spotless since the tier down. They will be even better once Jeff Louie starts scoring at a PPG clip we are more accustomed to seeing him get once the playoffs roll around. |
3 |
Have really gotten the ball rolling here, everyone better watch out! 6-1 in their last seven, including wins over Top Gun and Underdogs, Vancouver Reign has proven they will be a force this coming playoffs. |
4 |
An enigma thus far this season, I was expecting a rebound from this team once they got tiered down. By rebound, I mean I expected them to lay a savage, mean streets of LA gang beating on people. Hasn't quite happened as Top Gun flirts at a record just about .500 with no signs of their former selves showing up. |
5 |
Just when you though they have righted the ship, reeling off wins against Top Gun and The Drillers, Vipers lose to Millionaires. At 3-4 Vipers sit seventh in the standings, but I am willing to give them a mulligan on that because of those four losses, three are against Underdogs, and of those three wins, two are against Drillers. |
6 |
Have the lowest goals against in this tier, Dragons are capable of beating the top teams in this tier. Though in the standings and in the power rankings Dragons look to be a middle of the pack team, they are the owners of victories over the other top teams in this tier not named Drillers. Pete Cronin remains the straw that stirs the drink for the Dragons. |
7 |
Have been keeping it close as of late, and winning tight games, though if I am correct they did get blown out by Drillers inbetween? Their last game against Underdogs will be a big one, it will show us if they have any legitimate shot at vying for the tier 2 crown this season. |
8 |
Their season was not going well early on, but with the final re-tiering came the death blow. Three pretty much blowout losses in a row having 27 goals scored against in those three games. Amazingly Jon Chan still leads tier two in scoring by a staggering thirteen points. So to all you ICE604 fantasy league owners out there who picked up Jon Chan, congrats. |

Previously on cruise control for most of the season, but has hit a few potholes in the road with losses to Coldshots in OT and in their last game to Dill Pickles. Still my favorites in this tier, Vancouver Ice Bears present a balanced package of offence, defence and goaltending. |
1b |
Yeah, that’s right, I did 1a and 1b.... a cop out, but what a cop out! 4-0 in their last four with a win over Ice Bears, and their three wins before that all being by wide margins. Dill Pickles are peaking at the right time, and Yaz Jinnah's 1 goal and 21 assists deserves some sort of award. That is a monsterous stat line. |
3 |
Have played well as of late, also beating Ice Bears but can't bust through that wall we call The Dill Pickles. Sean Reyes has been scoring in droves this year. |
4 |
They have the best Goals For/Goals Against ratio for any team I have seen that is 2-5-1. They have the scorers that can allow this team to compete, they have had that all season long. They just don’t seem to have the attendance looking at their roster. Lots of 2's, 3's and 4's under the games played category. |
5 |
Competitive for the most part, but pretty much find themselves on the wrong side of the win/loss column the majority of the time. They have been getting blown out of the water by the top three teams in this tier since their 5-0 win over Dill Pickles. |
6 |
Finishing the season strong has not applied to the Spartans this season, having been accosted in three of their last four games, losing by scores of 11-4, 10-3 and 9-4. It won't get better, their last opponent of the season is Vancouver Ice Bears. |
Tier 4 |
1 |
Yeah, I went off the reserve here, but hear me out my friends. 5-1 in their last six with their only blemish being an OT loss vs Pacman, Ice Dogs have finally found their legs in the second half of the season. It looks like the addition of John Hidber has made the desired effect, having 8 goals in 8 games. This is a team I expected to compete for the title this year, and it looks like they are back in the mix of things. |
2 |
Only loss since the re-tiering has been against Ice Dogs, HPS' solid defence continues to roll in tier 4. HPS even got the job done minus Gary Chau vs Pacman, speaking of which, Gary Chau is nowhere to be found among HPS' leading scorers. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing I am uncertain, but their current formula for now is getting the job done. |
3 |
I am a broken record when I say "Killa Bees will compete, and compete well in this tier". But here I am, and I am going to say it:
"In tier 4, Killa Bees are going to be competitive"
So far things are looking up, WTHC has the highest Winning percentage thus far in the tier. But there are a few suspect things, two of their wins are against High Jacks and their loss to Hellboyz is very glaring.
4 |
Their second move down to tier 4 has not beared as much fruit as their first move down where they beat Pacman 7-0 in their first game in their 4 before getting moved up. Upon getting moved back down they are 1-1-1 with their lone victory being a comeback squeaker of Blitz which saw them score three unanswered goals in the third. |
5 |
Silently creeping up into contention in this tier Hellboyz have won four straight, victories over Icemen 2.0 and WTHC being among those wins. Jesse Rupert continues to score..... alot... and David Tran seems to have gotten a lot of goals as of late. Whoever faces this team in the first round may find themselves the victim of an upset. |
6 |
A modest .500, Blitz have been the victims of the final re-tiering. They have lost to Icemen2.0, HPS and WTHC all teams who were tiered down. Even more disturbing is Quoc Tran's goal scoring tear has been grinded down to a halt, but he is still a PPG player. |
7 |
I have been sipping on my Pacman haterade all season long, but I will give them credit where it is due, I thought they would have fared a lot worse than this when I saw the re-tiering. They aren't getting blown out, and they own a win over Ice Dogs, well two wins to be exact. But they still can't generate enough offence to win two of three games against the powers of this tier in my humble opinion. |
8 |
In the same boat as Pacman, they are in games but just find themselves in the loss column more than the win column. Jeff Ohashi continues to serve as their leading scorer, and Tim Poon is had himself a nice regular season as well. |
| |
Tier 5 |
1 |
The playoff surge is coming from the NIghtawks once more, the team that always goes deep looks to repeat history. Nighthawks have far and away the lowest goals against average in this tier, and a spread out offence, with their top scorer Tim Shew (I know, Tim leading the NIghthawks in scoring is shocking to both you and I) with just 16 points, with the team averaging over 5 goals a game. Apologies for the great run on sentence. |
2 |
Blowout losses to both the Vohora Vikings and Affinity Sabres, but they rebounded with a tie against NightHawks. Everytime my faith in the Crimson Guard Waivers, I just watch the youtube club of that last place Crimson Guard squad, that beat first place Starcore Titans in the shootout. Sean Cranston has a statline of 2.25GAA and .913 save %, he can steal not just a game, but the season for Crimson Guard, which he has already done. Believe in the power of Cranston. |
3 |
Have lost a few game close one goal games, but for the most part have had convincing victories as of late, including a big 8-1 win over Nightawks. Vohora Vikings have alot of guys hovering at or over the point per game clip and their goals against average is second only to Nighthawks. |
4 |
Taking a lot of teams to OT for the tie as of late, Affinity Sabres are having a late break through, and have also shallacked Crimson Guard in the process. Affinity Sabres have shown they can go toe to toe with the big boys in this tier, but they have also shown they can lose to the lower seeds in this tier as well. |
5 |
WCX have done well against the mid-pack, lower seeds in this tier, but unlike Affinity Sabres they have not been able to compete with the top dogs in this tier, losing decisively against Nighthawks and getting shelled by Vohora Vikings. |
6 |
Doesn't look like a lot of their big guns will get their six game eligibility in for playoffs. The Un Brothers have 3 and 4 games, Johnny has 4 and Thrilliam Ng has zero. With those guys they may have had an outside shot at doing some damage, but without I forsee a probably first round exit. But never say never I suppose. |
| |
Tier 6 |
1 |
The top of a ridiculously competitive tier, Ron Gil now carries the offensive load for this team instead of the mostly absent this season Bryson Davies. Ron Gil's 20 goals thus far are actually pretty damn monsterous, so I am just going to repeat it: TWENTY GOALS. One more time for good measure: TWENTY GOALS |
2 |
The second of this really close tier, their GF/GA ratio is nearly 1:1 which is not too great come to think of it. Gregory Ma and Shea Mcneil have led this team in scoring, but I assume Josh Malamas will play most games this playoffs if not every, and be right up there in playoff team scoring. |
3 |
Have a better GF/GA than Marauders and have a lot of guys that can score. Raymond Ma, Eric Wong, Johnny Ly and John Vo each have over twenty points, and they have about five more players after that, that are a point per game. Bullets can easily have been put second in this tier. |
4 |
Suffering from Vancouver Canucks syndrome, which sees them beat the higher seed teams and lose to the lower seed teams. Sakai's have delievered the business to the Marauders this season and also just beat Eh Team 6-2. But for all that they are still under .500. |
5 |
Those new dark jerseys are fantastic, if I were to go on jerseys alone, I would put JTP in first in the tier, and second, and third, and fourth, fifth and six. But alas, such is not the case, and here we have JTP in fifth. Jonestown Punch doesn’t hold a win over any of the top three teams in this tier. Jeremy Smith narrowly holds his lead over Matt Hurst for team scoring title. |
6 |
The last time Herb Lee played enough games to be playoff eligible for a team, I saw a pig flying when I looked out my window. But here we have it, 11 games played for Herb Lee. But I can that is really all the good news I can muster up for Fury. |
| |
Tier 7 |
1 |
Highest winning percentage of a tier that is even more close than tier 6. Razors are led by the two-headed monster Russ Metcalfe and Jeff Holten, who lead the team in scoring, and are also one and two in tier scoring. Will anyone shut them down for the playoffs? |
2 |
Only two players over a point per game, and lead by a defenceman in scoring, but that doesn't matter Blue Devils have still been getting the job done all season long. Just keep the penalty minutes down boys, those are bound to catch up with you once playoffs rolls around. |
3 |
Kim Chiefs have been getting a lot of offence from players we are not use to seeing at the top of team scoring. Jeff Chong and Gordon Leung are having career seasons right now, let us all bask in this, as everyone loves surprises. |
4 |
The perfect .500 record of 3-3-3-1 with a GF/GA hovering near 1/1. The league is demanding more offence from Rob Low, and we won't except "he is playing defence" as an excuse. Come to think of it, this team has a pretty strong defence on paper, it can maybe translate to playoff success. |
5 |
Same boat as Shaolin Monks, just a hair under .500 with a GF/GA hovering around 1:1. Having been able to get over the preverbial hump, but at the same time it is not like they have fallen off the radar. They have seen themselves at the wrong end of a one goal loss more than they would have liked this season. |
6 |
This is a disappointing spot for Icemen, at least for me. Allen McDonald and Sean Corbett haven't quite been able to lead this team to regular season glory, and The Stallion Julian has played a paultry three games for Icemen. Again this is a really close tier and pretty anything that happens come the playoffs, I will not consider an upset. |
| |
Tier 8 |
1 |
Continue to roll along here quite nicely, has been consistent all season, and has plenty of guys that are in the double digits for points. This tier is between them and the Whisky Militia. |
2 |
Pretty much the same as the Baby bulls, but with not as high winning percentage. Whisky Militia has a lot of guys with double digits in points as well, and they also won their last game against Baby Bulls, but Baby Bulls hold the season series edge over Whisky Militia two to one. |
3 |
Yep, same schtick, lots of goals for and lots of goals against. If Blings hope to be able to beat either Baby Bulls or Whisky Militia they must lower the goals against. Adam Fulkerson, Colin Chinack and Brian Chu each have over twenty points. |
4 |
I am still crushed by the disappointment of Transformers 2, but after watching the masterpiece that was Inception yesterday, my soul has been soothed enough to place Autobots in fourth. Pretty fun stat: Their top three scorers are dmen, watch out for the end to end! |
5 |
The defence has evaporated, and their PIM is sky high. Don’t really have a world beating scorer who can carry them through the games in which their defence falters. They will probably need to find a way to outscore an opponent come the playoffs. |
6 |
To say it has been a rough season for the Ice Hawks is an understatement. Ice hawks continue to search for that elusive first win after having already been tiered down twice. Now if rookie sensation Nick Barrientos would just bury the damn puck like we expect them to, they could have ran the table to an undefeated season damn it. |
| |
Tier 9 |
1 |
What?! I put a defence-first team in first place?! How criminal! But yes, sticking with my defence first philosophy, Titans have allowed just a smidgeon above 2 goals per game, which is pretty damn low for beer league. Kevin Lockwood has things on lockdown baby. |
2 |
Have taken a more offensive approach to this season compared to seasons past. They have the highest goals for clip in the tier, now that is something new for this team. New addition of Eric Olarte has worked out quite nicely as he leads the team in scoring. |
3 |
Woah, what a rebound, a reminder these guys were an easy last, in the last power rankings. But here they are in third, with a solid 5-3 record now. William Lee looks to be their go to guy as he has nearly double the points for the second leading scorer. |
4 |
John Bablitz has tallied yet another career season for Camp Douglas, but that is not enough to put Camp Douglas at the same .600 winning clip as the other big three in this tier. Preston Chuhon and Jason Minarto only have three games played, what the heck guys! |
5 |
Have a .350 winning percentage despite their GF/GA being pretty much even, Rockstars are a better team than their record otherwise suggests. Though they don’t have a single player that has broken double digits in goals yet, which is a bit of cause for concern. |
6 |
Have suffered at the hands of the top four of this tier, but not to be lost in this is Phil Ramos' career season. This is the highest PPG clip he has ever scored at! |
| |
Tier 10 |
1 |
Scoring at an insanely high rate, Coldshots 2.0 average 6.5 goals a game. Everyone and their dog, and even their cat is a PPG on this team, whenever there is a problem on this team they will just outscore it. If someone gets H1n1 they will probably just outscore that too. |
2 |
Not scoring at the same ridiculous pace as Coldshots 2.0, but close to five goals per game is nothing to sneeze at, not to mention a lower goals against average. This is another team with quite a few guys that are about a PPG. |
3 |
Isn't in the same tier of offence as the top two, but their commitment to defence will always make up for what is their lack of offence at times. Brian Phan is having a goal scoring surge this season almost averaging a goal per game. This being done while playing defence! |
4 |
Continues to respond to my callout of them suffering without Jesse Rupert. These guys were 0-3 when I said that, and after a little bit of re-tiering, and alot more winning they are not 7-3. D'oh! |
5 |
The Uns and Olarte look like they will get in their required games for playoffs which is indeed bad news for the rest of the tier. Though since I am talking about attendance they probably should have had more players show up against Masterbladers to avoid that drubbing. |
6 |
The players on the BottomFeeders continue to maximize their money spent by insisting on sending every game to OT so they can get more ice time. In their last ten games seven have gone into extra time. I have heard from my shadow agents that BottomFeeders have finally procured a bucket of pucks recently. Disturbing news. |
7 |
The surge has begun for this team as well. Except is a surge going the wrong way, I started with this team in second place and now I have them in second last place to finish the season. Captain Isaac Chong still refuses to put top prospect Sam Chin for the critical situations, someone rip that C off his goalie equipment! |
8 |
Have been pretty much shut down this season, going 1-7-1. Nakyoon has seen his worst season ever getting just 10 points in 11 games. I guess the post Soo-Young Jang era did not go as well as I thought it would. |
| |
Tier 11 |
1 |
Continue their mastery of this tier with a .833 winning percentage near the end of the season, which I think may be the highest in the league. They have more than replaced Paul Dumas by the looks of it. |
2 |
Lead all the way by their old Thunder core, Cleveland Steamers are in second. Ice604 rookie Daniel Del Bianco has himself together a nice little season compiling 17 points in 12 games. Cleveland Steamers are the only team to beat the Donkies in this tier, so far this season. |
3 |
For all those goals, they don’t seem to have any player with stunning stats. I guess I will take that as a good thing, as it means spread out, harder to stop offence. |
4 |
The highest scoring team in the tier is the good news for this team. Unfortunately for them they have more goals against than for. Corey Trogi and Robert Alyward have a combined 51 goals between them, that is more than some teams' entire offensive output! |
5 |
Even with four players over the twenty points mark, Spuzzum Shockers still find themselves in the lower portion of this tier. Though they haven't allowed as many goals as Motley Crew they have allowed more goals per game, because they have two less games played. But at the end of the day when all is said and done, they have some sweet jerseys to show for it. |
6 |
Billy Huynh is having his breakout season, however Koopa Troopas are not. Interesting Stat: Nam Nyugen is over a point per game in his two games played in net for Koopa Troopas, with three assists. |
| |
Tier 12 |
1 |
These are the Fighting Squirrels I have come to expect, sitting at 10-1, they, not the Donkies(my bad), hold the leagues' highest winning percentage at .846. This being done with Eric Chan Wong only having played four games. |
2 |
A 9-4 record would be good enough to have Ghetto Superstars in first in a lot of tiers, but alas they are in the same tier as Fighting Squirrels. Kris Lee is the tier's top scorer with 34 points, 23 of them being goals. |
3 |
Powered by Graeme Lin's 34 points, the Tigers have their stranglehold over the middle spot in this tier. Tigers have played Fighting Squirrels very close this year, with one loss being by one goal and another game being a tie. |
4 |
Predators and Dai lo bots have pretty much all their wins against each other. I put Predators ahead of Dai Lo Bots simply because of their last match where they crushed Dai lo bots 9-1. |
5 |
Wish they could play Predators every game, with the exception of the last 9-1 drubbing, every game has been a close contest. If only Dai lo Bots could replicate their victorous performance over Ghetto Superstars more often. |
| |
